Traditional to Modern
Renovations to both Cumberland and Richards Elementary Schools (Whitefish Bay School District) libraries create a more colorful and accessible learning environment. The traditional libraries were reconfigured into a vibrant and modern space, with emphasis on flexible spaces allowing for movement and collaboration.
Single glass doors were added to the new Tech Ed Tinker Space to allow for a direct connection to the flexible library zone. A centrally located desk encourages collaboration between students and also allows for 360 degree supervision of the entire library area. The tiered seating area provides students with space for reading and studying or as an impromptu teaching space for teachers. Interior finishes were thoughtfully selected to bring energy and excitement to the environment.
Transforming More Libraries within the District
We also teamed with Whitefish Bay Middle and High Schools to design their libraries, creating engaging spaces with 21st-century features. Our team designed an innovation station in the high school library connected by glass sliding doors that provides students access to high-powered computers and other technology as well as a discovery center in the middle school library with direct connection to the rest of the library.
