Michael Hauser is a project coordinator at our Sheboygan office and assists the project teams in the completion of construction documents using Revit software. He’s recently had the ability to dive into some design opportunities, currently working on the New Boston Elementary School project in Mercer County School District.
Even though Michael is celebrating his one-year anniversary at Bray this month, he was a part-time college intern with us since 2019. “During my internship, I had wonderful mentors who wanted to help me and see me grow, which was inspiring and made me want to continue my career with the firm after graduation,” he says.
Michael credits his internship with the firm for allowing him to add more responsibilities to his current position. Throughout his internship, he became proficient in Revit (doing construction documents), which has allowed him the opportunity to dive into the next level of projects – the design elements. “It’s important to understand construction documents before working on design options, because it’s the foundation of how these facilities are built,” he says.
With Michael’s dad being a cabinet maker, he grew up in the construction world. “I always loved when I got to go with my dad to construction sites and help him work,” he mentions. In high school, he took an AutoCAD class which led to taking an architecture class where he knew that was the career he wanted to pursue.
When asked what he looks forward to in his next year at the firm, he answered, “I’m really looking forward to working on the Random Lake High School project, since that’s my alma mater.” Having connections to the community and knowing faculty that still work at the school, makes him excited to start the project soon.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys golfing and going to his family’s cabin in Northern Wisconsin, where he spends most of the time on the water.
