Macy Patza is a project coordinator on Bray’s team. In her role, she works mostly in Revit on construction documents and renderings, which she just wrapped up Deerfield MS/HS renderings as the project is starting construction soon. In addition, she creates facility study documents that are given to clients to inform them of their facility’s current condition and needs.

The built environment has always interested Macy. Growing up, she enjoyed building houses in the Sims game and excelled at STEM courses in school. But it wasn’t until high school that she realized it was the career direction she was going to take. “I job shadowed an architectural firm and got to see the atmosphere and more of the ins and outs of what architects do, and that was when I knew I wanted to pursue architecture,” says Macy.

Since starting at Bray after graduating from UW-Milwaukee last year, Macy has been able to dive into her passion for designing inclusive spaces for everyone, especially students. “I always think of the future generations, especially my younger nieces and nephews, and wanting to make sure they have inclusive and comfortable learning environments in their schools,” says Macy. “I enjoy creating environments where everyone feels psychologically safe and empowered to learn and grow.”

When asked what her favorite memories at Bray this past year were, she answered “I’ve had many fun memories the past year with my two favorites being the cultural potluck where we all brought a dish to share that represented our culture/history, and the site tours, specifically the most recent one at Menominee Elementary School in Oshkosh. Growing up near Oshkosh, I knew the schools very well, so seeing how our team is transforming the district is awesome.”

Outside of work, Macy enjoys being a cat mom to her 3-year-old kittie and doing arts and crafts, especially creating items to decorate her home.
