Our incredible team has exceptional talent with diverse skills and backgrounds – including Austin Schroeder, senior project coordinator who is celebrating five years with us! We took a break to ask Austin some questions about his past five years.
Over the course of 5 years at Bray, what have you learned?
I’ve learned the entire design process, step by step, phase by phase, which takes a while to have a full understanding of the whole process. I’ve been able to work in different areas of a project with mentorship from team members that has helped in developing my skills further in multiple areas, like construction documents that I currently work on.
What do you like most about Bray?
Bray supports everyone’s professional development. I appreciate the ability to work on different phases throughout a project to assist the team – it helps us to grow, and become well versed in all architectural phases. I also enjoy that we have a mentoring program, because I like learning from others as well as teaching others, especially teaching new team members the Revit software.
How would you describe your team?
We’re a close-knit team; we’ve been able to get to know one another for the past couple of years (with new members continuing to join, too). It’s allowed us to find each other’s strengths and highlight those to build a successful project team.
What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on so far, and why?
The Village of McFarland Public Safety building has been my favorite project so far, because it will be the first net zero public safety center in the region (once completed this summer). Getting to work with a wonderful client who has trusted us with the design from the beginning has been a great experience. The facility will be a model for public safety buildings which is an accomplishment in and of itself and I’m proud to say I was a part of the project.
